Aldershot benefits from business investment

24 August 2009
Inward investment in a Hampshire town has soared in recent years, according to a local policy-leader.

Rushmoor Borough Council leader Peter Moyle explained that the South East of England business destination Aldershot has a "bright" future thanks to an increase in investment over the past three years.

These comments follow the publication of a report by the policy research unit Centre for Cities, which identified the town as one of the UK's most attractive business and consumer locations.

Citing the area's high standards of education and high average earnings, Mr Moyle endorsed the findings of the report.

He told gethampshire.co.uk: "The future of Aldershot is bright. There is an awful lot of inward investment including the completion of the Westgate project."

The Westgate project is a regeneration scheme that will extend commercial and domestic property space in the town by seven acres.ADNFCR-1584-ID-19327807-ADNFCR
